I have an MBA in Finance that I received in addition to my degree in Counseling Psychology. I worked in the corporate world for ten years before deciding to embark on a career in marital and family counseling. I believe my experience in business enhances my ability to assist people because it has broadened my life experiences.
My Philosophy
- I believe a good therapeutic relationship is a partnership. Everyone struggles with change, loss and disappointment in our lives. We may desire to do something different but just do not know what that could be.
- Together we will explore what tools and skills will help you achieve what you want; be it healthier relationships built on trust and respect, maneuvering life changes or other goals you wish to accomplish.
- We will work as a team to help you gain different perspectives and solutions. I provide a safe, nurturing and compassionate environment where you will feel understood and heard.
- My approach encompasses both action and growth. Leaning tools and skills are essential for counseling to be successful. I believe in order for growth to occur we must ‘peel back some layers’ to see why we continue to get stuck in unhealthy patterns.
- My intent is not to dwell on the past but to recognize that we are products of where we came from. We have the freedom to choose where we are right now and where we want to be in the future.
- My focus is not on pathology but health and healing. My counseling approach is from a holistic perspective; an appreciation of the physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral and relational aspects that make us unique. I can work with your team of health professionals to provide the best care possible.
- I do not believe in a ‘one approach fits all’. I listen deeply to your individual concerns and tailor an approach specifically geared for you. I will provide you with support, compassion, acceptance and caring.
Your life can be nourishing, productive and satisfying. I consider it a privilege and an honor to assist you in striving to gain optimal health.
“We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves, otherwise we harden"
